PeopleSoft Projects

  • Led one of the largest PeopleSoft DB2 Financial Upgrades to date with over 300 gigabytes of data and 5,000+ users at Sprint Corporation, Kansas City, MO. Worked directly with the IT Director on the upgrade of PeopleSoft Financial modules AP, AM, BU, PO, IN, and GL from version 6.0 to 7.52. Performed all upgrade tasks including setup of Databases, connectivity, workstation/server setup, edit and execution of all upgrade  SQL/SQR/DataMover scripts, etc. Successfully implemented 6.0 to 7.51 Budgets Module to Production. Currently integrating all other modules in continuation to release 7.52 completion. Completed implementation of 11 Production and 3 Development 3-tier Application Servers.

  • Assigned to the European HR-Global team for a major sports apparel manufacturer as the PeopleSoft 7.5 Functional experts. In this role, we were responsible for ongoing country follow-up for the data element requirements obtained from the following countries; United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain and Germany. We proposed a workable Setid and Business Unit Foundation Tables set-up strategy in PeopleSoft. Based on country, Setid's would allow control for how foundation data would be shared among users of the system of a particular country(s). Based on Business Unit, it allowed the users to view data that applies specifically to userid and Operator ID, by linking Systems Defaults that are unique or shared values throughout Nike's organization to Business Units. ACT was also responsible for maintaining the project task log, issues list, and defining standards to be used for foundation tables set-up, table and data loading, and testing data.

  • For Whirlpool Corporation, assigned as the PeopleSoft Functional experts. We were assigned to a team whose job it was to upgrade PeopleSoft from 5.12 to 7.0 and then to 7.5. While upgrading, we were also responsible for rolling out PeopleSoft to ten manufacturing divisions, some of which were union shops. In this role, We organized and conducted fit analysis for each division's current process and future process maps for Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll, to ensure accurate fit of existing processes. We worked with users in the setup of tables for Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll. We worked with Technical Analysis to perform data mapping, data load and testing of Whirlpool's GEMS Systems, LUAS & CLARK, M&D and PeopleSoft 5.12, 7.0 and 7.5. We also worked with users on the reconciliation of earnings balances, deduction balances and tax balances, to insure they were brought over correctly from the old system. In the Post implementation phase, we developed the Parallel Test Plan, which ensured the execution of the Parallel Testing and detail verification of data integrity. We also developed training manuals for PeopleSoft 5.12, 7.0 and then 7.5 and conducted training for the division end users. We were responsible for the automation of the Garnishment process for over 1400 hundred employees. We worked with the Technical Analysts to develop an interface to send garnishment data to the accounting department to produce checks. We also used PeopleSoft Query/Crystal to generate individual answers that went with each check to the courts. This eliminated twelve hours of manual work. We interfaced with the Corporate office overall project management team and the division project team to resolve issues.

  • For First Data Corp. (FDC), we managed the PS version 7.0 acceptance testing. We were also responsible for conducting Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll PeopleSoft training for FDC end users on the implementation team.

  • Performed Upgrade of HRMS/Ben Admin Oracle upgrade from 5.12 to 7.01 at Hershey Foods, Incorporated in Hershey, PA. Served as Upgrade Specialists, to aid in the upgrade planning and administration of PeopleSoft HRMS upgrade. Performed all install and setups of workstations and Databases for upgrade. Performed all steps of upgrade and aided in the restoration of customizations for client. Applied 7.01 Application update to Demo Database.

  • Completed Upgrade of HRMS/Payroll/Ben Admin DB2 from 5.12 to 7.01 at Whirlpool Inc. in Benton Harbor, MI. Applied all applicable tax updates and helped with re-implementation and testing of all in-house customizations. Built all DB2 databases used and performed several tuning exercises to help with on-line processing degradations. Also applied application update 7.01.

  • Completed Upgrade of HRMS/Payroll/Ben Admin DB2 upgrade from 5.10 to 5.12 at Whirlpool Inc. in Benton Harbor, MI. Installed all DB2 databases and moved all objects into production. Also brought system up to date with all Canadian, US and W2 tax updates.

  • Served as Upgrade Specialists at Honda Corp. in Marysville, OH to perform intermediate upgrades on companies PeopleSoft HR DB2 database and Peoplesoft FIN ORACLE database. Applied application upgrade of HRMS 5.11 & HR 5.12 on DB2 and PeopleTools upgrade of PT 6.10 on ORACLE. Installed both HR 5.11 & HR 5.12 Application update database in DB2 and PeopleTools 6.10 database in ORACLE. Performed all Panel, PeopleCode, Menu and SQR modifications needed to retrofit customers customizations.

  • Identify and report any potential conflicts that one functional group may cause another functional group as the result of migrations between environments. This includes conflict management between customizations and PeopleSoft patches for modules GL, AP, AM, BD, IN, and PO. Applied an estimated 100+ PeopleSoft fixes and countless customer enhancements through PeopleSoft change control. Also involved in other projects such as general customer support via internal PeopleSoft help desk, and designing and documenting procedures for infrastructure team processes such as having a mainframe job trigger a job or program on WindowsNT Process schedulers and visa-versa.

  • Served as Lead on DB2 upgrade to HR6.0 release from HR5.10 at Siemens Rolm Communications in Santa Clara CA. Mentored other consultants while performing upgrade. Installed all databases and helped with performance tuning of DB2 database. Used new functionality with Configuration Manager and Connect IDs to enable customer to eliminate the need for setting up PeopleSoft Userids on MVS. Performed set up of all workstations and File servers. Applied HR6.01 Application Update to finish out project.

  • Served as technical mentors for Financial implementation at Utillicorp United in Kansas City MO. Programmed Cobol and SQR programs that where used as translate models in conversion process for companies Budget module. Assisted in the creation of process flows and migration techniques for all other conversion modules.

  • Performed upgrade of Financial DB2 database for Gap Clothing in San Bruno CA. Applied application updates and fixes to existing application. Wrote migration specs for customer to perform the migration of the changes themselves.

  • Served as Instructors for SQL/SQR class on behalf of PeopleSoft for two large Gas and Oil companies overseas.

  • Served as Project Management team on DB2 upgrade at Centerior Energy in Cleveland OH. Served as upgrade consultants as well as leads for installing software on DB2, and Novell Server. Assisted developers at company to install Centura SQLnetwork software for MVS to migrate customer from using Gupta Gateway to TCP/IP. Assisted with installation of SQR for MVS to install Process Scheduler for PeopleSoft application. Developed the workstation standards for using Windows 95 with application release HR4.02 and HR5.10. Applied several Tax updates to Payroll system.
